CPL Basic Course

The Total Home Defense concealed pistol course is an 8 hour NRA certified course which covers the requirements set forth by the State of Michigan. In this course, you will learn the necessary skills to build confidence in your ability to operate a firearm and minimize potential threats to yourself and others. By utilizing lived experiences as training scenarios, we will teach you techniques that instill vigilance and create muscle memory response.  This is an interactive course that will prepare you mentally to assess and engage potential threats.

This course has been designed as a distance learning program. Upon registration, the student will have access to a 4 hour self study presentation. Pre-set dates are available for the required in person training portion of the course. The student will be able to select from a morning or afternoon class which consists of an hour of legal and 3 hours of range instruction. An option to bypass the distance learning program and attend a full 8 hour course in person is available by request.

Firearms and safety equipment will be provided at the request of the student at no additional cost. Students are welcome and encouraged to utilize personal firearms, especially if it is the firearm they intend to carry concealed. 50 rounds of ammunition is needed for this course. 

CPL Basic Course costs $120.00 per student.  Students will earn an NRA CPL certification upon completion of this course. 

The Total Home Defense private instruction course is designed for the student that desires one on one CPL training. It is often found that many first time firearms owners, and newly licensed concealed pistol carriers, feel they have received inadequate training. Due to this lack of confidence, they choose not to carry their firearm.

This course provides in depth training that goes beyond the basic certification course. You will receive coaching specific to your needs that will not only increase your shooting skills, but will enhance your confidence and ability to properly and safely use a firearm. You will further learn positional shooting techniques and defensive tactics that will gain you the advantage. We offer complete customization of the course to adequately address the lifestyle and concerns of the student. 

Although it is a course highly recommend for those who are new to self defense and shooting, this course is available to those who currently hold a CPL, but wish to further enhance their skill and abilities.

Individual instruction costs start at $1000.00 per household. Limit 4.  Students will earn an NRA CPL certification upon completion of this course.
