Advanced Courses

The Total Home Defense Advanced Pistol Course will challenge students to step outside the common shooting guidelines found on a standard range. Deployment of a firearm in a critical situation requires active problem solving and the ability to move and defend simultaneously. Topics covered in this course of instruction include but are not limited to:

     - Positional shooting

     - Shooting from cover and concealment

     - Reloading in an active engagement

     - Malfunction assessment and clearing

     - Utilizing environmental advantages

     - Point shoot concepts

     - Movement while firing and while under fire

Learn advanced pistol techniques from instructors who have employed them in real world scenarios with the advantage of small class instruction. This course takes students beyond learning to shoot, and brings them to the next level of effective and competent firearms deployment.

It is suggested students acquire a CPL prior to this course as it is designed to build upon the fundamentals of shooting and the carry of a concealed firearm. There is a class minimum requirement of 2 students. Course cost is $300.00 per student.

Pistols are not always the best and/or only option for an in-home defense plan. Adding a shotgun or pistol caliber carbine to your home defense plan allows the home defender to gain further advantage over potential threats. Deployment of these firearms requires a different skill set and knowledge of ballistics to ensure the safety of the user and those defended. This course will show students advantages and disadvantages of long gun deployment, proper utilization, and positional shooting techniques. 

There are no prerequisites for this course. There is a class minimum requirement of 2 students. Course cost is $300.00 per student. This course is a 5 hour block of instruction.
